"Ivan Vasilyevich" is a play by the outstanding Russian writer and playwright Mikhail Bulgakov. The plot is based on a castling in time, when, due to a malfunction of the machine invented engineer Timofeev, the Moscow manager Bunsha, together with the swindler Georges Miloslavsky, move to the 16th century, and Tsar Ivan the Terrible ends up in the 20th century... The comedy served as the basis for the famous film by Leonid Gaidai "Ivan Vasilyevich Changes Profession", in which the action was moved to the 1970s .
